Here's a summary of journalistic commissions I am working on:
STOP PRESS: Urgent deadline on green manufacturing
I am currently working on a feature for the FT on how product design can lead to greener manufacturing, and less waste. The deadline for input is Wednesday 2 December, please email in the first instance.
FT Digital Business in 2010
It has been a busy, but successful year in 2009 for Digital Business and I am now working on 2010 content.
For January I am writing on social media monitoring, for the Does IT Work slot, and a piece called "How low can you go? The minimalist business", looking at how businesses can cut their IT down to the bare bones.
NB: due to the holidays, the effective deadline for any input to these pieces is Monday, December 20 but ideally, earlier if possible.
For February I will be working on a piece on the complete mobile office. Please ensure any suggestions for contacts or background reaches me by early January, at the very latest.
Other projects
I am working with a large IT publisher to produce a series of videos, with two strands: Q&A style interviews with CIOs and other senior IT managers, and shorter, more news-driven pieces from industry experts and commentators. Please email your pitches, ideally at least a week beforehand.
Green and clean tech story ideas are also most welcome.
As some of you will know, I have been (and remain) quite sceptical about the value of journalists' blogs. It is a huge generalisation, of course, but blogs tend to long on opinions and rather shorter on facts.
But blogs are a good way to keep in touch with a wider group of industry contacts than I can hope to by phone or email. And frankly it is far easier to update these pages than fiddle about with a web site.
This blog will concentrate on developments in the media business itself, and will include updates on projects I'm working on or find interesting.
There's a separate blog covering my main fields of journalism -- technology/IT and finance -- on stephenpritchard.com, so please do visit that too. And as ever, comments are welcome.
